The Epidemic Intelligence from Open Sources initiative (EIOS) is a collaborative effort across public health organisations to facilitate the early detection of and response to potential health threats using open source, publicly available information. You can read more information about EIOS here.

This map, hereafter referred to as the "EIOS COVID-19 Map", showing some of the most recent news about the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), cycles through each news item before being refreshed and re-running the cycle. All news content displayed on the EIOS COVID-19 Map is from open sources and has neither been reviewed nor confirmed by the World Health Organization or the organisations participating in EIOS. Users are therefore cautioned to be careful when reviewing the content on the EIOS COVID-19 Map as it may contain incorrect information (“fake news”, misinformation, etc.), opinions and recommendations that are not supported by evidence, WHO or the EIOS community.

The EIOS COVID-19 Map is not a comprehensive representation of all of the content that WHO and the EIOS community are aware of and assessing and is for general information only. It is subject to change without notice. While every reasonable effort has been made to use appropriate language and representations on the EIOS COVID-19 Map, WHO and the EIOS community expressly disclaim any responsibility for inadvertent offensive or insensitive, perceived or actual, language or content. WHO and the EIOS community will take no responsibility for or be liable for the EIOS COVID-19 Map being temporarily unavailable in the event of technical or other issues.

The designations employed and the presentation of content on the EIOS COVID-19 Map, including names of the events, maps and other illustrative materials, do not imply the expression of any opinion whatsoever on the part of WHO or the EIOS community concerning the legal status of any country, territory, city or area, or of its authorities, or concerning the delineation of frontiers and borders.
